“(LAND)”, an ongoing project, explores The Hollywood Dream, those who strive for it, and the world just outside of it. Through this Los Angeles based work, I hope to tap into the unfamiliar side of familiar imagery and question the significance of a world I find myself both a part of and also just outside of.
—The Hollywood Dream is a generations old cliché, and I am interested in exploring it as such. The dedication so many people have to The Dream reflects the place the entertainment industry holds in our collective consciousness. In some ways, the industry is merely a distraction from the essential realities of our existence, in others, it is what we connect with most and what helps us translate the world outside ourselves. For better or for worse, this industry is an integral part of our lives its contradictions are a reflection of ourselves.
