Where is Nature? Who is Wild?
The Wildlife of Axolotls explores the act of questioning how we experience the landscape through a field study of familial creatures who dwell in the wilderness of built environments.
We distort our experience by constructing placeless landscapes and populating them with uprooted creatures who roam through a coded wilderness, flourishing in the abundance of artifacts, with a fragile ecosystem that lacks meaning. Enveloped in symbol and myth we are captivated by our own charms, drifting into complacency and giving normalcy to our alienated lifestyles.
