Series: Phase One

“Phase One‚”started as my university thesis, which was made into a book and is an ongoing project that documents the changing landscape in the areas I grew up in (Carlisle, Waterdown, Burlington). These lands that once flourished with wildlife, farmland and dense forests and a slow but steady increase of urbanization are now rapidly expanding at a rate unseen in the past. The project has an emphasis on the town I spent most of my childhood, Waterdown, which is still classified as a “Village”; a title that no longer seems fit. Growing up and living here my entire life has given me the chance to see this growth first-hand. Such rapid change pushed me to document so I can remember how it once was.
